Modern industrial meets French elegance in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish overdyed rug. The faded botanical design and analogous color scheme in this piece work together resulting in relaxed refinement with a luxe utilitarian appeal. Taking center stage is an intricate French-style medallion outlined with delicate acanthus scrollworke floating in an open sea of ice blue and faded copper striations. The barely-there central medallion is patterned with stylized florals and foliage that seem to evanesce before one’s eyes into the atmospheric composition. Equally inconspicuous spandrels with rinceau edging radiate from the corners and extend along the sides. An elaborate floral border and elegant floral guard border add the finishing touch without taking away from the overall design.
