19th Century Chinese Biscuit Sancai – Glazed Garlic Neck Vase With Horses

When I did my research using the steps listed below, I found two other similar vases. One sold for €4750, and the other one is currently for sale for 1500.

If you follow Asian Art, you probably know horses are somewhat uncommon, like deer or bats.

This vase is in excellent condition. I didn’t notice any dings or damaged enamel.

Height: 16 inches
Width: 7.5 inches
Depth: 7.5 inches
Origin: China
Age: 123+ years old (19th century)
Identifying marks: green leaf on the bottom
Condition: excellent, with no noticeable dings, or damage to the enamel.

There are three steps involved in my research for pricing, and you can do this too.

1. Use an app called Google Lens to take a photo of any item. It will bring up similar items and how much they sell/sold for. This is also helpful in figuring out what to call or how to describe the item.

2. Do a Google search for the name of the item.

3. Do a search for the item by name on Chairish and another similar site.

Since I am being fair with my pricing, I want you to know how to do this. It will only help me by validating my pricing choices, and hopefully it will help you to recognize items that are overpriced.
