Measures 10 1/2″ x 7″ sight; 16 1/2″ x 12 7/8″ framed.
Provenance: Letter of verification signed by Franklin Riehlman in 1988. “I certify that this is a watercolor by Konrad Cramer. I have known of this work since I first inspected it in the artist’s estate in Woodstock, New York in 1981 when I was organizing the artist’s Bard College retrospective exhibition.”
Cramer was trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. He emigrated to the United States in 1911 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Cramer is credited as being an important link between German and American modernism in art.
