PLEASE NOTE: Reflections of the environment in which the art was photographed are visible in the plexiglass. This figuring isn’t inherent in the print itself.
Rare vintage museum poster print lithograph “Les Genets” (The Broom Trees) by Henri Matisse, originally painted in 1905.
The print was published for The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, printed in 1994 in an unnumbered limited edition and is no longer in print. Includes original 1990’s deep mauve frame with protective plexiglass.
Matisse is regarded as a leading figure of Fauvism, a style of painting with vivid expressionistic and nonnaturalistic use of color that flourished in Paris from 1905 and, although short-lived, had an important influence on subsequent artists.
The print is extremely high quality, featuring rich depth of color and texture.
