Original antique Tyrolean cradle painted

Rare antique Tyrolean cradle in soft wood. On the whole surface there are floral decorations and apotropaic symbols. At the ends, are painted two medallions, one depicting the Madonna and Child, the other the Pentacle, both symbols of protection for the newborn. On the sides, there are knobs on which, originally, a cord was passed with which to cradle the newborn. In addition to the original use, this cradle lends itself perfectly to become a unique piece of furniture with different utilities: it can be, for example, used to contain decorative dried flowers, or fabrics. Object not yet restored; it is possible to customize the degree of restoration desired, thanks to the intervention of our laboratory. Tyrol, early 19th century.
