Notturno A New York sofa by Gaetano Pesce Manufactured by Cassina in Italy Limited Edition of 50 pieces DESIGN TRIBUTE TO THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS The New York skyline in a sofa, from the genius of Gaetano Pesce. The design becomes narrative in this visionary work that began as the second chapter of a story begun in the 1980s with Tramonto a New York, the work with which Pesce surprised his adoptive city at sunset to then return the image through a series of spacious upholstered pieces arranged as it if to reproduce its skyline. The three-seat sofa comprises nine skyscraper-elements that serve as seats and armrests, joined to one another by fasteners. The backrest portrays a giant full moon of which Pesce reveals to the world its mysterious side, not visible from Earth. The system comprises nine skyscraper-modules that serve as seats and armrests, joined to one another by fasteners. The backrest portrays a giant full moon – through this work, Pesce reveals to the world its mysterious side, not visible from Earth. Cassina reinterprets Notturno a New York in a version with a conscious soul. The padding of the new edition is made of recycled PET fibre, introduced as standard in the upholstered pieces, and reducing to a minimum the use of polyurethane, crafted with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources. The upholstery is in an exclusive fabric with a design made specifically for this product.
