Fluid steam-bent wood slat lounge chair. This chair was featured at the Weinberg Modern Gallery in NYC when it was acquired by Dessin Fournir in the 90’s. Larry Weinberg was kind enough to comment: “The chair is part of a tradition in steam-bent wood design in the U.S. that goes back to Samuel Gragg’s ‘Elastic Chair’ of 1808. A nice vernacular, modern piece with the age to the 40’s-50’s or so.”
